IT-courses have started in the Dnipropetrovsk region for children of ATO fighters. The educational project "Hero's Child" began in Nikopol. Almost 30 boys and girls improve their computer literacy here. Next in line is the launch of groups in Krivoy Rog, Novomoskovsk and Pavlograd. “We constantly organize free programming, English and driving courses for the demobilized. Such activities open up new opportunities for them in peaceful life. Now the children of ATO soldiers and dead heroes have joined the IT courses. The educational project was proposed by the fighters themselves. Dnepropetrovsk Regional State Administration supported the initiative. The first groups began training in Nikopol. This week, IT courses for children will start in Krivoy Rog. Next in line are Novomoskovsk and Pavlograd,” said the head of the Dnepropetrovsk region, Valentin Reznichenko. In Nikopol, almost 30 boys and girls sat down at their desks. Children are divided by age into three groups. For the little ones, classes are held in a playful way. Through the game, students develop logic, thinking, teach computer basics. For older adults, the program is more complicated and involves IT programming. The most talented students at the end of the course will have the opportunity to work in the IT field during the holidays. Seventh-grader Veronika Alekseeva has been with a computer for a long time. But I signed up for IT courses anyway. They can be a successful start for a future career, the girl believes. Her dad is returning from the front lines the other day. She says that she missed him very much and will definitely show what she learned in the courses at the meeting. “We have already considered what a computer consists of, studied the important elements of the system unit. I especially like practical tasks. We work in a special program for drawing Paint. You can create almost masterpieces in it, it all depends on the desire and talent, ”Veronika smiles. The courses use modern teaching methods. The teacher first explains the theory - then the children work out the knowledge gained on the computer. “Children from different schools, so in the first lessons we align knowledge. Then we will create websites, learn the hypertext markup language. It goes beyond the standard school curriculum. The main thing is that the child has a computer at home and does homework, works individually,” emphasizes computer science teacher Vladimir Ryaboshapka. Education is free. In addition to computer skills, they develop the ability to communicate, work in a team, think critically and creatively. Classes - twice a week for three months. “The children are delighted. We plan to recruit three more groups in Nikopol and continue the educational project in other cities of the region,” says Anna Samorodchenko, head of the Hero’s Child project.
Our organization "UKRAINIAN FORTRESS" was officially established in 2015, but in 2014 we started working to help our friends and relatives who went to defend Ukraine from Russian aggression. At that time, it was the usual help to our comrades who needed help on the first line of contact. Our team was simple - people who defend the homeland and those who support them. Our activities are aimed at the development of a successful state and the well-being of Ukrainians. Therefore, we are open to any cooperation for the development of Ukraine as a country.
